DTN COMMENTS: The country is wide awake and moving this morning with fresh
bids noted in all major feeding states and a few cattle trading in Nebraska
this morning at 162.00, $6.00 higher than last week's weighted average,
there have also been some steers sold in the Eastern part of that state at
257.00, $10.00 higher. A late trade was reported in Nebraska yesterday,
around 10,000 head at 255.00 to Regional buyers and 160.00 to a Major. We
look for significant trade to develop today and/or tomorrow. Asking prices
are around 162.00-164.00 in the South and 258.00 plus in the North. Beef
cutouts are expected to be mixed with light to moderate box movement.
